Player’s note: Young Dennis Daa definitely never backs down to any challenges. Ready to bang his body for loose balls, jockey for position to get the ball whether it is in offensive or defensive.
Because of his height, heft and fast reflexes, Daa is one of the many promising young players to enter in the PBA this season after he was not signed by any team last year.
Achievements: A member of the 2006 PBL mythical Five
Defining Moments: Dennis Daa had a remarkable 12 points — his biggest output so far as rookie — in Sta Lucia Realty’s 95-92 pre-season victory over Alaska last September 23, 2007 at the Fresnedi Gym in Muntinlupa City.
His other best game in the pro league was against Ginebra last 10 November 2007, where he scored 7 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and committed 2 errors in 28 minutes. They lost to Ginebra in that road game, 90-103.
More about the player: When he nobody picked him and was left unsigned after the 2006 rookie draft, Daa had decided to return to the PBL and suit up for Toyota together with Ardy Larong and JV Casio.
A year after, Daa improved and the Realtors took notice of it during the Brunei Cup. Then, he signed a two-year contract.
Statistics: Daa is the chief reliever of both Dennis Espino and Marlou Aquino. In the 16 games he has played, Daa averaged 16.0 mpg, 4.0 ppg and 3.8 rpg. He also averaged a decent 43.0 percent from the 2-point area and 66.7 percent from the line.
