Player’s note: When the Realtors took the first overall draft right in 2006, they did not hesitate to pick Kelly Williams over two-time UAAP MVP Arwind Santos, who later picked by Air21 second overall.
Known to his various scoring tactics, Williams, 25, has given Sta. Lucia Realty the firepower to melt opponent’s defense.
He can do it via dunk, jump shot or in three-point area and penetrate hard the basket.
Williams, who also represented the country in the last FIBA-Asia in Japan , is also a good rebounder and defensive player.
In fact, he averaged 17.3 points and 9.6 rebounds last year to earn the rookie of the year award.
Williams, in his sophomore year, turned out to be a huge improvement not only in his basketball career but also to the Realtors’ campaign.
He finished with 16.1 points and 11.1 rebounds this Smart Philippine Cup to get the BPC award thus handing the Realtors their first ever All-Filipino Finals appearance.

Defining Moments: Kelly Williams erupted for a career-high 25 points and grabbed 11 boards last November 6, 2006 as Sta. Lucia Realty beat Talk ‘N Text, 102-90, Talk ‘N Text-PBA Philippine Cup at the Assumption Pampanga.
More about the player: If Sta. Lucia wasn’t eliminated early in the Fiesta Conference, Williams could have had a chance to become only the second player to win the Rookie of the Year and MVP honors in one season since Benjie Paras did the trick in 1989.
Williams, whose mother Andrea comes from Cebu, was a late addition to the Philippine Team that placed ninth in the recent FIBA-Asia Olympic qualifying tilt in Tokushima, Japan last year.
Statistics: Williams played for Magnolia in the Philippine Basketball League (PBL) where he averaged team-best 17.1 points and 12.8 rebounds per game in the Unity Cup.
Williams started in 43 out of 45 games with Sta. Lucia Realty and emerged as the team’s top scorer with 17.3 a game, the only rookie to finish in the top 10 of that category.
His 9.6 rebounds a night also topped the team and was No. 3 in the league.
