Player’s note: Ryan Reyes is a very talented aggressive point guard who plays unselfishly.

Known to his quick passing abilities, great size, driving skills, solid perimeter shooting, ball handling and rugged defense, Ryan Reyes has a bright future in the PBA.

He led Henkel-Sista to a third place finish in the recent Philippine Basketball League (PBL) Unity Cup.

Prior to his PBL stint, Reyes also saw action in the National Basketball Conference (NBC) and played for the Cebuana Lhuillier-sponsored national team in 2005.

In his rookie year, he led Sta. Lucia to its first ever championship appearance in an All-Filipino conference.

Achievements: Fantastic Freshman during the PBL’s 2007 Conference awards

Defining Moments: Ryan Reyes drilled in a career-high 26 points along with 10 rebounds and four assists as Sta. Lucia Realty routed Red Bull, 104-78, in the 33rd Smart Philippine Cup last December 15, 2007 at the Cuneta Astrodome.

More about the player:Ryan Reyes played alongside with NBA two-time Three-pointing NBA All-Star Champion Jason Kapono of the Toronto Raptors during high school days in Artesian High in California.

With his first-pass philosophy, Reyes has given shooters Joseph Yeo and veteran Paolo Mendoza enough time to hit their shots especially in crunch time, which becomes beneficial to the play of Sta. Lucia head coach Boyet Fernandez.

He plays good rotation to fellow playmakers Dennis Miranda and Christian Coronel.

Statistics: In his brief stint in the season-ending PBL conference, Reyes, now 24, led the Super Sealers in scoring with 11.4 points average, while shooting 33.3 percent from three-point range and 82 percent from the free throw line.

Reyes finished with 10.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.4 steals in 17 games played during the elimination round of Smart PBA Philippine Cup.
